Can you give a real answer instead of being pedantic about it? Jeez we’re not on Reddit fedora boy
They did. "Your upload speed" is the answer.
Do an internet speed test at someplace like speedof.me and whatever it gives you for "upload speed" is what you can expect to be the maximum.
Can you curb your sensitivity?
You used the wrong word. Maybe you didn't know. That's fine. We all do it occasionally. No harm.
Now that you know better, you could simply show some grace and humility by saying "Thank you". Then everyone could move on.
Have a good one
Not really, no.
When you understand how to ask the question, you will already have your answer.
Basically, your ISP, VPN, or your own networking equipment is going to be your chokepoint. The only person who can actually determine which one of those three is the slowest is... You. Nobody else has that information.
Until you can understand the distinction between "upload" and "download", you cannot understand the information your ISP, VPN, and the manufacturers of your networking equipment are providing to you.
(On a tangentially related note: If you don't have a VPN, go ahead and uninstall your torrent client until you've spent a lot more time studying networking concepts.)
The downvote count states that this is officially reddit now
Not sure what to do at this point
Edit: I upvoted all of your messages, peace and love Edit2: my Lemmy client is poorely working lately, I doesn't seem to register the upvotes from your profile page, anyway, "you're awesome, don't let boring people let you down"
Oooh thanks :) I was feeling kind of like a moron just for asking a question but you made it better thanks.
This problem is actually super complicated I dig dip into it and there’s a lot you can do actually to improve the download speed. I think it’s more a matter of people not accepting their ignorance and still trying to talk like their experts.
Feel like Reddit :(
