I've heard their only distinction is a somewhat denser set of connections. They can connect to more nerves than equivalent devices, but not a game changing number more. Aside from that, yeah, this is decade old tech.

they don't do the implants themselves but they do the signal processing, both in terms of the hardware and software side. They do design non-invasive interfaces too.
