Shrimp are part of the sub-order Pleocyemata, while prawns belong to the sub-order Dendrobranchiata.

I think you'll find that this is the case in every country.

FFS in Australia they are called prawns and the shrimp label will get you a seppo label. It was marketing bullshit and we hate it.
