Wander the gallery. Look at the art. Be polite. If you feel able please post some great art :)
It's a stunning painting. Had the privilege to stand in front of it and it's truly breathtaking.
Glad to hear. It's so big and vivid in real life, really surprised me!
It was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be too! The exact opposite of the Mona Lisa which was so much smaller than I expected for some reason (still not sure why I expected it to be large given it's a portrait...).
That's what I heard from everyone that's seen it. Also crowded out by 1000s of people with phones ;)
Yep, the thousands of people and the 3 inches of bullet-proof glass…
Amusingly when I went to see it (might still be the case I don’t know), if you wandered out of the room she’s in you could basically stand with your nose on his John the Baptist but almost no one was stood there looking at it.
Wow, and it's one of those pieces (admittedly good) that became mega famous on pop culture... not because it was the greatest painting (or even work!) by that artist. It all ends up as a picture on a phone, seldom viewed or printed instead of a real "experience".
Also thanks for the tip on stealing John the Baptist ;)
Yep! I’ve never understood those people that just wander round somewhere filming it all on their phone - you might as well just stay home and watch a video tour of the place online.
