The Dumbphone Boom Is Real
(www.newyorker.com)
Smartphones dominate the world. But have we become smarter by using them?
This community is oriented for people who prefer either so-called "dumbphones" or "feature phones" in order to regain control of their life.
Here is a very simple set of rules to follow:
All in all, enjoy your time here :D
I like the idea of separating my phone from my internet/social media/email/slack connections, but the reality is that I would rarely need a dumbphone at all. Like, I could probably leave it in my car. I just don't call or even text that many people anymore.
For me, it makes sense to add calling and texting to the small tablet I carry with me everywhere.
I agree with this, this is why I haven't really made the switch. Tbh the appeal of the dumphone for me is mostly for the cool and nostalgic feel.
But I do think that making this a "trend" and challenging the norm of the smartphone is a positive thing, and it's nice to see people rocking dumb phones in this day and age.
