I wasn't sure if the buckets would work well. I had good luck with self-watering nested buckets and roma tomatoes several years ago, but I didn't have enough to do that this time.
I water at least once daily, sometimes morning and night depending on how dry the soil feels.
Yeah dang, that's definitely more than just watering stress, it does look like viral damage. That's often hard to treat, best bet is to just trim away all the affected leaves and stems, and hope what's left can keep producing.
