How is it possible, that Signal still only provides a .deb package and no .rpm, or even better AppImage or Flatpak? There is an unofficial Flatpak but is it secure?

Not everyone feels comfortable doing that.

Which is not verified. I can do that with a screenshot tool but I'd like my messenger to be verified.

This only means that it was not checked by the flathub team, but I'm pretty sure you can check the build file of the flatpak version
