What if someone just keeps assuming you’re hurting them though? Like conservatives think it’s an attack on them that women want abortions or trans people can use bathrooms for their gender
relevant language hilighted. they are wrong because those things have nothing the fuck to do with them. controlling women’s bodies and the ability of trans people to comfortably pee is a crime against their rights. full stop.
Agreed, conservative attitudes on these issues are based on trying to control how other people think or what they do. They choose to believe that other people’s differences are an affront to them
A hidden conspiracy theory part of my brain sees that the “it’s a paradox” narrative of tolerance only seems to benefit conservatives and draws conclusions from there.
Because yeah if we use the “paradox” model, pure blatant racism is still wrong, but when conservatives mince words and go “immigration is an affront to my culture,” the paradox model almost serves as an enabling force whereas a simple social contract model does not.
Conservatives have brainrot, using them as an example of judgement in tolerance is not a valid argument. They come to the table intolerant.
