I mean...yes, the Arabian plate smashed into it, the Persian Gulf and Straight of Hormuz are an extension of the Tigris and Euphrates that flooded during sea level rise, but the general thrust of the plates in that region pushed Arabia into Iran about as hard as India is pushing into Tibet
