- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. - No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Counterpoint: Yes, she absolutely can.
Don't fool yourself. It'll hurt your feelings.
Don't cut yourself on that edge, man.
Here in the real world, which you should spend some time in, Kamala Harris can win, but that doesn't mean she will win, and people should recognize that, of course. But fuck fatalism.
She can't.
She can.
Want to keep going like this? Or do you maybe want to have a real conversation and express a point beyond fatalism?
Cannot. Do not pretend that Democrats aren't filled with sexist and racist voters that won't vote for her or vote at all.
In 2008, Barack Obama won. In 2016, Hillary Clinton got the popular vote, even after a continuous character assassination campaign of 25 years.
Yes, there are racist and sexist Democrats. But in both years, the clear majority of Democrats overcame the racist and sexist ones.
If you're not willing to actually cough up some evidence for why Kamala Harris can't win, then you're just being fatalistic and cynical for no good reason.
Harris isn't remotely on par with Obama and Clinton lost.
So, nothing more needs to be said.
You: Racism and sexism exist!
Me: Yes, but Democrats have managed to overcome both in recent elections.
You: Well... Kamala Harris just sucks! For reasons!
Okay, filing this conversation away with other wastes of time.
Harris cannot overcome the race card. She doesn't have the "it" factor. No panache. Doesn't exude enough power to win in the South.
Not TX or AZ, either.
Why do you say that? Can you explain yourself beyond just an absolute statement?
It's self evident. If people want to ignore that there are multitudes of racist and sexist on the Dem side then that's plain stupid.
