Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

I mean...ok? They're not awful, and I guess they could probably pull some halfway decent middle-America folks who are queasy about Trump.
I'd still prefer someone further left, but tbh they could do worse.
Coop is a lefty that presents well as a moderate. We had the fortune of seeing him in person at Lovett or leave it in Asheville. It was a good show.
It’s just that the NC GOP has such a lock on this state that there’s very little his administration can do other than be a blocker for their most batshit ideas.
We don't have to be concerned about Kamala keeling over due to old age, so the VP can return to being unimportant again. A lefty vp would be great, but wouldn't make many waves
A bizarrely lefty veep would prevent a coup like a bizarrely theofascist Pence made us worry about Mr Trump's health ... Because look what happens if the prez is injured or sick. Right?
(Forever respect Mr pence for doing his duty on 6jan, despite going against party loyalty, which is very hard for Republicans to do, and halting the coup. And I'm sure had he gotten into that truck he'd've never been seen again)
A leftist VP can be a good foil for a president, a voice in an administration. And if Harris is nominated, wins, and a MAGAt nutter manages to murder her, then they would be president. A leftist that was vocally supportive of the Palestinian people could help reclaim some of the people that are threatening to sit out the election (...despite what a Trump win would end up meaning for them and the Palestinian people...).
I absolutely understand what you mean, but the only politician I'd trust to represent the Palestinian cause is Tlaib, and as I understand it Michigan isn't ready to give her up
I think that Rashida Tlaib would actually be a bit too much for some 'moderate' voters, unfortunately. Depressingly.
If the Democrats retain the Senate, though, it will be with the slimmest of margins. So the VP will probably be called on to break several ties. Yeah, the VP will vote for whatever the Democrats want, but they'll still get their name in the paper.
For all the times Kamala had to cast a tiebreaker (33 times) she didn't get in the paper much.
