okay just doing the same movie but removing all references to the existence of Israel is even funnier like just don't release the movie it can't possibly be worth it at this point.
e: i hadn't been paying attention to marvel news and thought the new movie was gonna be about her and not captain america again even tho i thought at the end of the last one he transforms into Liberal Clint Eastwood
It was never going to be. Falcon is a boring ass character, his actor is straight up Not Good, the villains of the disney+ series were more interesting than him and all the other "good guys", etc, etc etc
I don't know how Mackie got here, but whoever got him there did him dirty. He doesn't seem to have the chops to be a TV lead role (see Altered Carbon), let alone the lead for something that's supposed to be a blockbuster movie. Maybe they thought he'd grow into the role by the time Evans rolled off idk
Edit: I hope he gets a big enough check for this shit, though. I can't imagine the amount of he might have to put up with being a black superhero character (particularly one that replaced a white man)
I don't really have a problem with Mackie as an actor but they built up his captain america while vilifying refugees and very much making him out like a house slave. Like he was literally accused of it, and then they did nothing to address it.
The actor is fine. Black Captain America who is also the Falcon? That also has potential to be neat. Lot of interesting dynamics to explore there.
Then the show came out, they barely touched the race issue and instead made him Captain Liberalism, complete with an incredibly cringey speech at the end.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier is probably the worst case of "Villain has a point, better make them burn down an orphanage or something" since Black Panther overthrew the anti-imperialist lawful monarch of Wakanda with the help of the CIA.
Oh god, I forgot about that season. If you get out-acted by Army Guy from Suicide Squad, you should probably just find a new career.
I don't agree with either of these things but I wish your happiness.
I do agree that the villians in his series were more interesting though. Well, at least John Walker was.
