Names blurred to protect the innocent / crazy. Not trying to call anyone out, just thought the response was hilarious and highly disproportionate. Like, they distinguished that comment (green border/background).
For reference, the comment I presume that was downvoted that apparently triggered that response was to the tune of "BoTH SiDEz!!!!" with some hyper generalizing / stereotyping on the side.
If they don't like it they should defederate. Make it into a proper hugbox
Stop asking for defederations people.
That function is for wildly inappropriate or illegal content, not a random community you are not the target group of. Block communities you dont care for yourself, or even the whole instance. That way you can still interact with their users / read posts and comments outside the instance.
The fediverse should not be fractured needlessly.

Nah in my experience vegans are pretty happy in their spaces it’s usually the meat eaters who try to dampen the mood like how they were doing on that post
That's... what I've been saying lol. That the vegans aren't happy how the outsiders are acting in their instance. So to stop outsides from coming there they could defederate.
Nah, Lemmy doesn’t need to be fragmented more because some people are too close-minded against veganism which has existed since 1944.
The outsiders will still somehow find themselves there and then complain that we vegans are mean. I have seen it countless times in other vegan spaces.
