Third parties don't only run for presidential elections. I have had green party and libertarian party people elected in my town.
State-Level Green Party Officials (Former)
Current Green Party Mayors
Former Green Party Mayors
Current Green Party City & County Council Members
Former Green Party City & County Council Members
Other Green Party Local Officials (Current)
Other Green Party Local Officials (Former)
I'm not sure where you got this list from but its disingenuous at best to say that those people are examples of people who won elections under the green party when the 8 out of the first 10 you listed actually ran as democrats and only switched after they either left office or lost in a democrat primary.
Shane Robinson -Ran and elected as a democrat
Henry Bear - Ran and elected as a democrat
Ralph Chapman - Ran and elected as a democrat
Fred Smith - Ran and elected as a Democrat
Matt Ahearn - Ran and elected as a Democrat
Audie Bock - Ran in special election under green, switched to independent (not green) after.
A lot of the other names you've given are for elected positions where party affiliation is not applicable like "water conservation manager for distinct 7" of some middle of nowhere county. Out of this entire list there are only maybe a half dozen valid examples of people that ran under the green party and won against actual opponents for a position that actually has any sort of power.
List is from wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Green_politicians_who_have_held_office_in_the_United_States
I said that third parties don't just run in presidential elections and provided a list from wikipedia. I stand by my post. Thank you!
Even the source you copied it from actually shows they ran as democrats yet you still used it... I guess what you really stand by is bad faith.
I just cut and pasted, friend. If you have a problem with the way Wikipedia lists them, then go on edit and update. And even with whatever edits you think it should have, my point was still shown. They don't just run in presidential elections.
You didnt just cut and paste it, Wikipedia clearly says they ran as democrats, you made the choice to omit that part, so you knew from the moment you edited what was pasted that it was misleading and you chose to lie by omission anyway.
Dude, feel free to edit Wikipedia if you are not happy with the way it's presented.
Wikipedia shows it clearly, you're the one who left it out of your post
I didn't put in notes of any of the candidates. And it doesn't change my answer. And if you would like to put all of that in a text format that I can easily cut and paste into replies, I will gladly use from now on and credit you too. You seem to think that I am on some mission to hide information and trick you.
It's public information. I posted the text that I had about green party members that don't just run in presidential elections. I've posted it before with links. I'm not misleading you on anything. Seriously, make that into a text file that I can cut and past that is formated correctly and I'll post what you give me.
Dude, I'm not even voting Green Party. lol
of course you arent voting green, you probably dont even vote at all, your agenda is pretty obvious.
look at how youre deflecting this... saying i should fix wikipedia because you "just copy and pasted" then when i show that wasnt true you suggest i make it easier to copy and paste FOR YOU.
heres a suggestion, how about just dont paste blatant lies next time? how about take your list, look how many of them got elected as democrats and dont include them..but thatd be too straight forward and honest for you i bet, better to just blame wikipedia or say "i didn't write the article" so you can keep spreading your garbage.
Well if it were true that I don't vote, then you have no reason to be annoyed by me, right? Also, I guess it's not THAT obvious, because I don't know what agenda you are talking about. What do you think my agenda is? And if I weren't voting, why would I have an agenda.
And for the record, I am voting. Socialist Workers Party. Which I have said severely times on Lemmy and I even created and mod the Socialist Workers Party community.
What have I lied about? I copy and pasted my info from Wikipedia into a text file. I did it a while ago. Then I use that when I need to. Maybe it changed since then, maybe not. I don't care. There was no lie. My point was, and still is, that greens run in local elections.
Even if you take out every single Democrat in that list, I'm still right. Greens run in other elections besides presidential ones.
In fact, I will tell you when I got the numbers and how I got that list. Here is the origin of me using that list and how it came to be: https://lemmy.world/comment/12178318
So maybe it's updated since then, but I used the list I gave you in that conversation with people, who were mad because I used the other wikipeida list which is here:
Here let's use this one. Also from Wikipedia: The Green Party's membership encompasses the fourth-highest percentage of registered voters in the United States, with a total membership of 234,120.[61] The Green Party has its strongest popular support on the Pacific Coast, Upper Great Lakes, and Northeast, as reflected in the geographical distribution of Green candidates elected.[62] As of June 2007, Californians have elected 55 of the 226 office-holding Greens nationwide. Other states with high numbers of Green elected officials include Pennsylvania (31), Wisconsin (23), Massachusetts (18) and Maine (17). Maine has the highest per capita number of Green elected officials in the country and the largest Green registration percentage with more than 29,273 Greens comprising 2.95% of the electorate as of November 2006.[63] Madison, Wisconsin is the city with the most Green elected officials (8), followed by Portland, Maine (7).

So feel free to be mad all you want, but saying I'm lying is just incorrect.
Incompetent, probably. Lying, no.
Can we be friends, now?
Looking at your post histroy its super obvious you are doing this to troll, pretty much everything you post is ragebait and you know it is because you keep getting massively down voted and told why its cringe yet you keep posting anyway. To me it's more entertaining than frustrating, I really do enjoy your posts, I just also enjoy picking them apart on occasion too, its nothing personal really but given how much you post and how low effort the points you try to make are its just too many opportunities.
I really do look forward to seeing what this account does after November 5th, can't wait to see what you post during mid terms, SWP is cool, interesting you post more about other parties than the one you actually support but whatever gets the people riled up i suppose.
Feel free to believe whatever you want to believe, friend. I'm not a troll and I'm not going anywhere after the election. I'll continue to post just like I have been.
I post way more about socialist parties and causes, including the Socialist Workers Party, way more than anything else. I’ve even set up accounts on x.com and Mastodon dedicated to SWP content, and some of my articles have been published in their newspaper, The Militant. Recently, I started designing shirts and educational materials for them too, so no idea why you are saying that.

Post history is public. They are correct in that you post far more in favor of Jill Stein but there's a reason for that, right?
Another option would be to stop lying.
So embarrassing! I love that for you!
Not embarrasing at all. Thank you!
