A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- Avoid politics
- NEW RULE as of 5 Nov 2024, trying it out
- Political posts often end up being circle jerks (not offering unique perspective) or enflaming (too much work for mods).
- Try c/politicaldiscussion, volunteer as a mod here, or start your own community.
- Posts must be original/unique

So I guess showerthoughts is going to be the new platform .ml users will use to complain about capitalism? OP is a brand new account and this was their first and only post.
Yes, I will keep calling this out.
No one should think anything beyond the current hegemony in the shower!
And a platform for you to complain about people who complain about capitalism
When sockpuppet accounts are posting to unrelated communities, no shit I'll complain. "Rich people are bad" is not a showerthought and you know it, but I guess let's just spam the platform with this nonsense and keep making new accounts to boost these posts. What's wrong with that?
We need more valiant soldiers like you fighting these clowns🫡
Thank you. Really. I start losing my faith when enough times passes since I last time saw someone event attempt to make sense on Lemmy.
Billionares are the Lemmy circle jerk. I'm tired of the antiwork Lemmy mentality. We have people here who want to make big bucks doing nothing.
It feels like you are missing the point on purpose. I don't know why, this feels like laziness.
Criticizing the existence of billionaires and being antiwork are two different things. And being antiwork is different than wanting to do nothing. No one wants to do nothing, except in cases of major depressions.
A lot of antiwork post can lack depth but there are really interesting criticism to be made about work as it's organized these days. I suggest you dig the subject.
It will stay an echo chamber until mods step up and start removing low-effort posts. Also, people are downvoting me in favor of a fake account with one post lmao. That's how bad it is.
Honestly I shouldn't be surprised as Lemmy isn't exactly mainstream media. If you are on Odysee you see people saying how the holocaust was a hoax and that Jews are evil. Here is isn't quite as bad but you still see the extreme minority.
Only if the mods didn't share the same sentiments. Low-effort political posts in non-political communities have been and always will be a staple in lemmy. You have to understand that it is the same people who left Reddit with these sentiments and similar behaviour that are now here doing the same. Quite an unfortunate reality really
