I appreciate it. But it wasn't funny, not in this serious situation. Shurly he could somehow connect it to a known parody that used this kind of humor
It was original humour, and especially in dark times I appreciate a laugh. It helps with sanity.
He came back on topic right after and continued serious. It didn't hurt the conversation at all in my opinion. Quite the opposite, I will remember the points he made even more.
I hate lame puns and quoting movies, though. That's not my kind of humour. Situational humour is best, and the seriousness of the topic added to it.
