It wasn't a health concern. The only concerns for 5G were long-term practicality, energy and service costs and shorter coverage.

5G was supposed to be made for robots, IoT and wireless home internet.

I haven't tried 5G, but it seems that the expected speeds would be the same as 4G in early days.

My 5g speeds regularly top 300mbps.

4g topped out around 50-75 for me.

Check out what comparable internet speeds cost in Australia

TBF, I pay approx 100 USD for 300mbps down and 25 up for home internet service. Back when I lived out in the sticks I was tethering to my cellphone because the only thing available was dialup ISP’s.That was on the order of a couple mbps down and kbps up. It’s probably not to the extreme that Australia is but there are definitely still places here with no internet service, though they are shrinking.

Wasn’t NBN supposed to be a national broadband network (isn’t that what NBN stands for) in Australia? I seem to remember watching something on TV about it some years ago, but it was plagued by bureaucratic bullshit, and corporate greed? I could be wrong, it’s been a while since ive thought abut Australian broadband services.

I think 12/1 Mbps runs around $60 a month in Australia. It's possible to get it a bit cheaper but those are usually plans that have a data allocation.

Yeah. Apparently it was killed by lobbying to ensure dependence on cable TV and traditional news media. It's not entirely different to what happened in the US that one time.
