Concerns over lack of pedestrian and bicycle separation had been raised one year before opening.

We were afraid that if we designated a bicycle path, cyclists might move too fast. Therefore, from the very beginning, the concept was so that pedestrians could stop to sit on benches and admire the views. - Warsaw Mayor in April 2023

The bridge is like a stroad. Bicycles are making sudden moves to avoid collisions with groups of pedestrians. Bicycles cant travel efficiently and tourists can't enjoy views in piece.

Sorry for linking facebook, but I couldn't find this video elsewhere

I forgot that this device is still being used lol. Masovian Voivodeship in Poland banned leaf blowers in 2021 as part of air quality regulation and... air actually got cleaner and no one complains about leaves on sidewalks

In Poland, there is a "built-up area" road sign (obszar zabudowany).

Basically, it was intended to distinguish streets from roads. It can legally be placed only before areas with many points of collision like intersections, driveways, sidewalks, and crosswalks, essentially everything that counts as a street. It can't legally be placed where buildings are separated from the road and there is no pedestrian infrastructure. This sign mainly changes the default speed limit from 100 km/h to 50 km/h.

Unfortunately, it’s Poland . The law is so convoluted that even the Ministry of Transport doesn't understand it. Some road managers don't understand what particular signs mean and place them intuitively. Sometimes the law doesn't make sense, and road managers place tricky combinations of signs to circumvent it.

There is a yt channel run by a frequent traveler who wants to fix the situation. Today, he uploaded a April Fool's joke video where he discusses new "built-up area" road signs proposed by the Ministry of Transport. They look different but have the same legal meaning as the sign used today. They are intended to help surprised drivers understand their unconventional placement.

Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwmA1UTlv8c

Proposed signs:

  1. There is a law stating that in every tunnel longer than 500m and outside of a built-up area, vehicles are obligated to keep a 50m to 80m distance from each other. There is an urban highway running under Katowice city downtown. Road managers decided to place a built-up area sign there so that the distance between vehicles is shorter and road capacity is higher. Proposed sign [1:01].

  1. Sometimes, a built-up area doesn't end when a road enters a forest. The proposed sign [2:02] intends to assure drivers they didn't overlook the "end of built-up area" road sign.

  1. A built-up area was recently extended so it covers a bus stop in the forest, making it "safer." This situation is clearly prohibited by law. Proposed sign [2:56].

  1. Police can suspend a driver's license for 3 months if the driver exceeds the speed limit by 50 km/h in a built-up area. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to roads outside built-up areas. Road managers placed a built-up area sign in the forest so the police can do their job. Proposed sign [3:38].

  1. There are many urban highways that don't have any intersections, pedestrians, driveways or any other points of collision. They legally mustn't be inside built-up areas. The city council doesn't want to exclude highways from built-up areas because of "safety," "too many signs," and the "feeling of permission to drive faster on stretches of road where fatal collisions are frequent." The proposed road sign [4:48] is the reason I'm writing this post. In my opinion, it perfectly shows the absurdity of urban highways. It has the potential to become a symbol of the better city design movement. Could we make it the banner of this community?

  1. In Olsztyn city, there is an area planned for urban development in an unknown future. The road manager placed a built-up area sign there because updating its localization in the future doesn't make sense. Proposed sign [5:20].

  1. There are places where not only buildings, intersections, sidewalks, driveways, etc. are absent but the road itself isn't present too! The proposed sign conveys nothingness [6:25].

What do you think about proposal? I unexpectedly stumbled upon it when I was watching yt earlier today and thought it could become new symbol of a car-centered urban design

This headline implies that EUs moves are agressive and brutal while they arent. Breaking up monopolies is an ordinary step of keeping the market competitive.

  1. Open any website
  2. Switch to another app and do literally anything
  3. Go back to Firefox
  4. Tab reloads for ~5s and wipes all form data

Poco F3 6GB
MIUI 14.0.9
Fennec 121.1
Battery saver: No restrictions
"media.aboutwebrtc.auto_refresh" - False

I doubt ram is an issue as there is always at least 1.7GB free. This bug has been occuring or a long time. 3 years old reddit post about it

Can I fix it myself or should I wait for it to get patched? I dont know if this is appropriate place to post this, but I cant use github

USB C, 3rd party app installing, free browser engine and easly removable batteries in 3 years. Iphone suddenly becomes an amazing option

Todays electronics is fast. Imagine how much natural resources could be saved if manufacturers delivered software support until device is truly unusable due to hardware limitations.

This post is being written on 3 years old flagship killer that has never dropped any frame, reached 0% battery or crashed but wont get system updates anymore because...

seemingly 3 years old 7nm flagship SoC is too weak to be used for next decade?

Literally more interesting information in article than laptop itself

Im too young to remember pre-crisis age (before 2008) so I dont know if its new "normal" on market. Its a scheme that takes advantage of rapidly changing prices of everything.

Typical cycle Im talking about:

  1. Shop prices good at market price.
  2. *severe crisis*
  3. Market price rises to historic level never seen before
  4. Shop adjusts price to market level
  5. *crisis ends*
  6. Market price drops to normal
  7. Shop: OMFG -60% DISCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Any news site these days spams "articles" how every shop has same discounted item from any brand

This rages me. Worst thing is politicians use the same pattern. When war in Ukraine will end is unknown, but certain is that politicians that will be ruling will say cheap gas is their credit. Then they will point at party that was ruling before them and say "Look at these bastards, THEY made gas expensive and WE made it cheap".

Same situation when games sequel is released. They advertise sequel, wait till people see its moneygrab and forget about. People forget and shops sell previous version at huge discount.
