I'd love to find something like this for movies as well.
Definitely. I have been transferring my stuff over from IMDb to Trakt (it plays nicer with Kodi). I've put a lot of time and effort into IMDb over the years but it just feels terribly clunky with minimal investment in it, despite being owned by Amazon, which is a big issue (as it is with Goodreads, but we have BookWyrm now and I am transferring over to that).
To keep everything joined up, here's my thoughts from the other thread:
So, yes, a Fediverse or Discogs or IMDb service would be great but a more generic base that could be adapted for all sorts of databases seems a more exciting possibility. I'm also a bit tickled by the image of a worm in a general's uniform.
