What makes you think that we give a shit about the cost of prisons and hospitals to taxpayers in this specific scenario? Is this supposed to be some sort of gotcha?

If humans had any respect at all for the natural world, they'd feed themselves to the bear.

I'm gonna assume you're just a really sad person who hates everyone, and this comment is off-topic, because there's no way you're in the Piracy community complaining about a Nintendo leak.

They want the "Democrat Party" to go to trial for (not sure for what exactly), so this could also be some MAGA idiot trying to sound smart, while telling us not to vote for Kamala.

I don't hear Tankies say "Democrat Party" all that much, that's a pretty solid right-wing-ism.

Could be "Horseshoe Theory", I guess, but lately I feel like we need to cut through the bullshit and recognize that every single person telling us not to vote for Kamala is perfectly fine with another Trump term, and that's enough for me to call someone a fascist.

That's because third parties only show up every 4 years to play useful idiot.

We'd hear about them more if they'd run in smaller elections - elections they might actually have a fighting chance at winning. Having some political foothold might be helpful if they're going to participate in larger elections where the two-party dichotomy is hardest to overcome.

But that's not how it works. They exist, fundamentally, to be a threat to one party or the other. That's what their donors pay them to do. Nobody is paying them to be a threat to both parties, because nobody legitimately believes that the American Green Party actually has a platform. People usually vote for them out of spite because they think the Democratic nominee is too weak. Likewise the Libertarian Party caters to right-wingers who think the Republican nominee is too government-y for them.

Unfortunately, that line of attack doesn't work against Conservatives. Their brand of patriotism is a complete scam. They hate every facet of American society, especially civil rights, democracy, and individual freedoms. They want a straight, white, Christian monoculture/ethnostate, and their entire basis for this is a complete completely fabricated version of the past where America is the motherland for the white race.

They love freedom of speech and press, except by marginalized groups in schools and libraries, and not if you're sympathetic to communism. Any speech they don't like is banned.

They love freedom expression, except for drag, crossdressing, or wearing gender-affirming clothes. They support government-enforced dress codes.

They love gun rights, until the hand holding the gun has too much melanin in it. Those people are killed by the state, and they celebrate it.

Don't ever mistake it. The people rewriting history and pushing for authoritarianism are pretending to be patriotic. Their true ideology is Nationalism, and they fucking despise this country. They openly hold disdain for the foundations of this country, while pushing revisionist history that its founders were Christian Nationalists who wanted a Theocracy.

The reality is that Republicans know exactly what they stand for: A Fascist Dictatorship. Every single time they claim to be "defending" some pillar of this country, they are actually tearing it down. The election integrity efforts are just efforts to disenfranchise likely liberal voters. Efforts to "protect kids" from "transgenderism" are just driving up teen suicide rates. Efforts to protect the unborn are killing would-be mothers and reducing the birth rate. Efforts to enshrine "Parents Rights" is just an attack against our public schools, with the goal of giving parents fewer options in the future.

Calling them Republicans doesn't even make sense anymore. They are neo-Nazis. They're pushing Great Replacement conspiracy theories, starting Pogroms, illegally stripping people of their right to vote, threatening liberal voters with state & vigilante violence, telling their constituents to kill liberal protesters, celebrating murderers who kill liberals, and spewing disgusting lies about ethnix groups they don't like.

Most nuclear plants are owned by corporations. Before the accident, Three Mile Island was owned and operated by Constellation Energy (now Constellation Nuclear) and EnergySolutions.

They targeted gamers.

Gamers.

We're a group of people who will sit for hours, days, even weeks on end performing some of the hardest, most mentally demanding tasks. Over, and over, and over all for nothing more than a little digital token saying we did.

We'll punish our selfs doing things others would consider torture, because we think it's fun.

We'll spend most if not all of our free time min maxing the stats of a fictional character all to draw out a single extra point of damage per second.

Many of us have made careers out of doing just these things: slogging through the grind, all day, the same quests over and over, hundreds of times to the point where we know evety little detail such that some have attained such gamer nirvana that they can literally play these games blindfolded.

Do these people have any idea how many controllers have been smashed, systems over heated, disks and carts destroyed 8n frustration? All to latter be referred to as bragging rights?

These people honestly think this is a battle they can win? They take our media? We're already building a new one without them. They take our devs? Gamers aren't shy about throwing their money else where, or even making the games our selves. They think calling us racist, mysoginistic, rape apologists is going to change us? We've been called worse things by prepubescent 10 year olds with a shitty head set. They picked a fight against a group that's already grown desensitized to their strategies and methods. Who enjoy the battle of attrition they've threatened us with. Who take it as a challange when they tell us we no longer matter. Our obsession with proving we can after being told we can't is so deeply ingrained from years of dealing with big brothers/sisters and friends laughing at how pathetic we used to be that proving you people wrong has become a very real need; a honed reflex.

Gamers are competative, hard core, by nature. We love a challange. The worst thing you did in all of this was to challange us. You're not special, you're not original, you're not the first; this is just another boss fight.

With this lie escalating to violent threats against the Haitian community, we perhaps need to put a pause on joking about this insidious hoax. They are trying to start a race war, and memes likely aren't helping.
