A project space in East London is preparing a series of events and an exhibition of artistic works, films, texts, and other artefacts broadly relating to the aesthetics of conspiracy and conspiracy theory.

We are interested in hearing from artists whose practices are concerned with conspiracy and conspiracy theory and refer directly to particular current or historical conspiracies, as well as works which consider conspiracy theories as affective structures for knowing. How might the “truth of art” address “post-truth” public domains? The project aims to understand and share with audiences the aesthetic forms of conspiracy manifest in contemporary art practices, as well as the failure of mainstream arts and media institutions to address conspiracy theorising.

We are agnostic about the content and attitude of any conspiracy theorising artists may pursue, historic, recent, or ongoing. Covid-truthers are welcome to respond to the call alongside those whose work debunks anitvax conspiracy theories. We are interested in political, social, scientific, psychological, and personal conspiracies. The intended outcome of this call is a presentation of works in the form of an exhibition and an event series unfolding between October 2024 and January 2025 in London. The location and further details will be shared with applicants. There is no submission fee. The project cannot offer honoraria or production budgets.

Works in all media are welcome.

We are also happy to hear about work in progress.

CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT (sh.itjust.works)

cross-posted from: https://sh.itjust.works/post/50477118

I can not draw very well, but many of your can. I am asking everyone who wants to partake in this contest to draw this:

A Mouse shoveling snow into a heap

Please post the result in the comment section. The post with the most upvotes in a week 03.12.25 will be the winner and as result i will print it out and IRL post it onto a wall on the street using wallpaper adhesive (please note i only have a B/W printer).

Should it snow soon i will maybe create a tiny snow heap next to the mouse with real snow.

If you use AI please dont make it to obvious...

I'm enjoying the vintage Arabic aesthetic, I feel like I should do more of these stuff.

The title says: Fly up with the music, Yoko Kanno

Bottom text is about her most famous Anime compositions, Cowboy bebop, Ghost in the shell, Wolf's rain, Brain powerd. / Feat. Origa, Maaya Sakamoto.

I've uploaded a work called 'CPU damage'. The work is about a happy love story, but here's the original idea of the work. I said I'll do the original version and almost forgot. But it's finally here. Hope you like it. and let me know which one you prefer. thanks.

Very interesting creature, seldom found but very memorable.

She is a sea nymph whose legs are wrapped into a silky dress with flowers and delicate plants and vines surrounding it, Vilia eternally hovering in the remote corners of the world, where only the sea waters live on, no lands for thousands of kilometers.

I fell smitten with her concept the moment I found her, decades ago, in those remote seas while playing Final Fantasy 5 and actively looking for obscure enemy encounters.

I was but a kid and I jumped when she suddenly appeared - how could I expect a creature so beautiful yet so lethal and relentless, cursing the main characters each turn with nasty status effects and no-selling anything expect the deadly but very iffy to hit with "Stone" status effect?

She is very interesting for being an elusive and overalla minor enemy, to the point she might as well be the focus of an episode of a TV series dedicated on exploring the backstory of the more interesting creatures from RPG games.

Since then, I always dreamed, and keep dreaming, about a visit by Vilia to my dreamscape when I sleep.

Protip: her original in-game sprite is the clear inspiration for Final Fantasy 7 heroine Aerith, the two girls haircuts and faces are identical and both are floral themed magical beings.
