With the recent news about discord asking for face or ID scan, what other alternatives are there that we can recommend to our less tech-savvy friends?

I don't know why it wouldn't be possible.

Did you try installing it and see what happens? A BIOS with only UEFI shouldn't be a problem.

I think you can try opening an issue on github https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues about lemmy posts not displaying every picture you posted on mastodon.

I don't know if they'll be able to solve it alone, I believe they'll need to talk to someone responsible for mastodon for a collaboration perhaps.

I see. Looks like mastodon handles the pictures like an image gallery/carousel. Maybe this is a problem with the ActivityPub protocol, perhaps the mastodon and lemmy team can talk to figure how to better integrate the federation on this point (assuming it's possible)

As the other user already mentioned, the first line in your post is the lemmy title. Tag the community at the end instead of the beginning of the post.

Also, how did you post the art pieces on mastodon? I tried opening the link on the original instance that posted it, but I'm getting an error, do you have a picture of the post?

I think there was a plasma desktop version that changed how the search works. Ever since this happened, the results that really matter are not being displayed first, which makes the navigation slower and counterintuitive.

I didn't know that. Lemmy really loves StarTrek

The devs and designers are not playing around, this is looking amazing.

So not sure if it was removed or intentionally blocked.

I'm also not sure. Sorry.

[-] FirmDistribution@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

I think they are. I've never seem anyone complain in a community before.

[-] FirmDistribution@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

hey, can we see the project? I'm curious.

I probably won't be the new maintainer, but I might add it to the list of open source projects I'd like to contribute.

Seems like buying games to remove them from your competitor is a scummier thing to do.
