12 year old account got permabanned for telling a Nazi off. But even before this happened I've noticed how much reddit has dropped off the last few years compared to when I discovered it.

Loads of old accounts are now just getting perma banned site wide.

I had an accot that hadn't been used for commenting (just the every now and then looking for something) that got perma banned about a month ago. Reason? None given.

I'm guessing they want to rid the site of users that still remember how great it once was

I remember when reddit used to invite actual interesting celebrities to do AMA's. Things never were quite the same after they fired Victoria.

Oh good old Victoria.... I wonder what happened to her, I'm sure she landed on her feet.

There was even a time when AMA guests would just do the AMA for fun, or to get in touch with their fans. Not just when they are starring in a new movie or show / have "written" a book or some other financial motivation looming overhead.

I heard you can get banned for how you vote now. No comments needed.

Account age was used when factoring the credibility/legitimacy of a user account when humans moderated.

The AI moderators don't care, and making most non-banned accounts younger makes it harder to verify the legitimacy of the accounts, which is even a good thing if they are trying to flood the site with bots.

this hasnt slowed down mass accounts from created instantly and to spam propaganda, OF accs, or Links to a business. i think what happen is they just upped thier sensitivity of thier spam filters, now its seeing botting everywhere, even normal people. and yes AI cant discriminate between a real person and a botter.

Not to mention the reposts.

The number of old pics and videos that keep reposting is through the roof.

r/AskReddit has dropped in quality. It used to keep me busy and entertained for ages.

The only reason I use Reddit now are for old niche posts that answer specific questions. Other than that, I find my selfing going to lemmy first these days.

I'm just there for the porn, these days. Any sort of meaningful interaction with people happens elsewhere.

Shitty moderation, biased mods, oh well

I just got banned for saying that if RFK doesn't believe in germ theory we should dust him with anthrax and see what he says, lol.

Its been downhill for a while but seems to have picked up speed in the last 6 months or do. Hmm. Wonder why that is.

I got an account ban for stating how terrorists deserve to die, which I guess is a controversial opinion now. Bunch of pussies in charge of the place now.
