But many of the signs target Elon Musk specifically, and his most famous brand, Tesla, calling the vehicles “Swasticars” and comparing Musk to a Nazi.

Musk; “How many legacy media publications, talk shows, whatever, try to claim that I was a Nazi because of some random hand gesture gesture at a rally where all I said was that my heart goes out to you,”

"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." - George Orwell 1984

If it was a misunderstanding, wouldn’t he apologize instead of standing his ground?

I once accidentally touched a women’s boob, I didn’t insist it was an accident, I just apologized instantly…

Musk did the equivalent of full on grabbing and slowly squeezing that boob and then insisting it was a gesture of respect.

¨Shall we then donate a substantial amount of money to programs for minorities to show you are not a racist nazi, sir?¨

¨I think not.¨

It's great to see Elmo suffer.

But I'm reminded that the concept of "voting with your dollars" and "consumer activism" are the ways capitalism has captured revolutionary activity into a fashion that serves the ego, satiates the desire to act, and neuters any chance of efficacy.

When capitalists see the demand for change, they package it, promote it, and trade it on the market.

The early adopters certainly are. You still see plenty of them including cybertrucks, unfortunately.

One of my friends is considering replacing his with Lucid cars.

They’ve had Teslas since well before Elon was problematic publicly.

since well before Elon was problematic publicly.

When was that?

Before he was more widely known for his shenanigans.

These Tesla owners who love their cars but hate his involvement with government are a bit ridiculous because one of the biggest reasons he got in loved with shilling for the right is that the government was looking into regulations and investigations concerning how unsafe Tesla cars are.
