I’m not sure anyone expected them to pull it if this deal goes through anyway. Surely they would lose more money in the long run by limiting the amount of people paying for micro transactions than people buying PlayStations instead of Xbox.
At the end of the day, making money is the most important thing, but it's also a nuke for Microsoft's arsenal if they ever need it.
No no, that isn't how it happened.
Sony agreed to sign a deal with Microsoft. After they repeatedly rejected the deal and attempted to get the acquisition cancelled altogether.
Basically, Sony is accepting defeat..
