It means they're having bareback sex and the man orgasms while inside her.

It should not be tolerated at the workplace. I'm forced to listen to this rhetoric because my shift isn't done yet, and I can't leave without getting fired. I'm forced into a sexual discussion without consent, and it's so graphically disgusting that I feel nauseous.

That strong anti natalist sentiment is palpable

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah... Personally, I'd rather hear that a couple is trying for a baby over the bigoted shit I usually hear at work.

[-] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Sounds like something Hank Hill would get upset about.

"I'm going to go number 2" - Disgusting and graphic.

[-] remon@ani.social 1 points 1 month ago

Ridiculous ... but certainly unpopular, take an upvote.

[-] Hello_there@fedia.io 1 points 1 month ago

It's part of life. Like, literally. That's how this all works. Best to get used to the concept.

I mean, so is death, but the corpo workplace convention is that I should temper it with phrases such as “passed away” and “is no longer with us.”

I’d love if I could just say we’re fucking raw instead of the OP verbiage.

[-] Taco2112@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

What if they are trying to have a baby through in vitro fertilization? Your mind is what’s immediately going to sex. If someone is being more graphic in their description and talking about raw dogging and how often, then I think you have a case.

I don’t want to hear about people trying for kids either but I personally don’t care and just don’t engage in the conversation.

[-] DMCMNFIBFFF@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

I don't think the statement is bad, but I can see why many wouldn't want to hear it in detail.

[-] Fedditor385@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

I would also jump to the first conclusion that OP is oversexualizing stuff, but on the other hand, there are many other ways to give the information which doesn't induce pictures in brains od people who are very visually oriented. "We hope/plan to have kids in the near future/soon/within a year or two".

Same as we don't need to know people have blasting diarrhea, enough to say they have digestive problems or stomach pain.

[-] volvoxvsmarla@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

But how is "we hope to have kids soon" any different to "we're trying for a baby"? Both implies they (are going to) have sex. And both isn't the same as "my husband is gonna cum inside me this weekend and we're thinking brezel dip since we don't enjoy missionary that much I just don't get that stimulated since his penis is on the smaller side but also I should be lying down right? I mean we are usually the doggy type of people but that's just not that good for the sperm to travel up the vag. But with missionary his dick just tends to slip out and if that happens right before orgasm and we lose all the jizz this cycle is gonna be done for. So we're gonna go for some obazda if you know what I'm saying"

I personally already have graphic images when I just hear people talking about their kids. That means these people did it at least the number of times they have children. My mind automatically goes there. But that's my problem, no one is pulling their dick out and no one is telling me anything graphic.

Had a colleague who said that he's disgusted when another colleague talks about his boyfriend. He advocated it basically because he was imagining anal sex between them all the time.

Three years later, these colleagues are boyfriends 💞💞💞

Could go even further and announce you're practicing how it's done. Even without trying for a baby. And like you're constantly getting better... Or lost 2 pounds due to the additional workout...

[-] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

"Went to the doctor to put a load in a plastic cup so they could insert it with a medical tool."

"We are getting IVF treatment, so we froze some medically inseminated eggs to omplant mater, but wanted to sound like everyone else when saying we were trying because it is frustrating finding out getting pregnant is a lot more difficult for us than other people."

Are those better?

[-] hendrik@palaver.p3x.de 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I'm the wrong person to judge. I'm completely indifferent. I'd say "good for you" but really couldn't care less. Unless that was my boss or mom or something...

[-] FerretyFever0@fedia.io -2 points 1 month ago

It's not that crazy, but it's a little uncomfortable to basically just be told that 2 people are rawdogging. It's nowhere near nausea inducing, and it's not really a sexual discussion. Would I rather not hear it? Of course. Is it that bad? Not really.

[-] stinky@redlemmy.com -2 points 1 month ago

It's nowhere near nausea inducing

Are you sure? I find it nauseating, so I'm not sure why you're saying I don't.

The replies are just sad... I do agree that the meaning of "We are trying for a baby" is inherently a sexually explicit term and some people might not like it and it should be accepted I don't know why people in the replies have a problem with that. 🤷‍♀️

Welcome to the Unpopular Opinion community!

How voting works:

Vote the opposite of the norm.

If you agree that the opinion is unpopular give it an arrow up. If it's something that's widely accepted, give it an arrow down.

Guidelines:

Tag your post, if possible (not required)

  • If your post is a "General" unpopular opinion, start the subject with [GENERAL].
  • If it is a Lemmy-specific unpopular opinion, start it with [LEMMY].

Rules:

1. NO POLITICS

Politics is everywhere. Let's make this about [general] and [lemmy] - specific topics, and keep politics out of it.

2. Be civil.

Disagreements happen, but that doesn’t provide the right to personally attack others. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Please also refrain from gatekeeping others' opinions.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Shitposts and memes are allowed but...

Only until they prove to be a problem. They can and will be removed at moderator discretion.

5. No trolling.

This shouldn't need an explanation. If your post or comment is made just to get a rise with no real value, it will be removed. You do this too often, you will get a vacation to touch grass, away from this community for 1 or more days. Repeat offenses will result in a perma-ban.

6. Defend your opinion

This is a bit of a mix of rules 4 and 5 to help foster higher quality posts. You are expected to defend your unpopular opinion in the post body. We don't expect a whole manifesto (please, no manifestos), but you should at least provide some details as to why you hold the position you do.

Instance-wide rules always apply. https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
