Well this seems stupid, but I can't seem to find out if they'll delete a final remaining restore point or just older ones.

Seems ridiculous if they can potentially leave users without a recovery option if something breaks.

They semi-recently fucked me over on one of my machines by unceremoniously disabling the automated registry backup functionality that's been there for decades. So, guess who's HKLM registry hive got corrupted shortly after, preventing boot.

Anyone that still has to deal with windows for whatever reason, go and re-enable that for the sake of your future sanity (there's a flag in the registry somewhere to do this, should be easy to find on a search engine)
