I'm going through a period of stress and anxiety and I'm looking for some games to play on my 3ds that are good for chilling.

I don't necessarily want a "boring" game, something engaging is fine. I want it to be low stakes and not too difficult or stressful, but without being boring.

Some examples that I've already played:

  • Fantasy Life
  • Mario Golf
  • Steamworld Dig
  • Pilotwings Resort
  • Animal Crossing

Whenever I feel like I just want to have fun and want to play something I just replay an old favorite, like let's say New Super Mario Bros 1 or 2 or some matches of Mario Kart DS or 7.

But in the chill aspect I'd say a Kirby game would be fit, I would say Planet Robobot although I have only played Kirby Triple Deluxe so far!

Also another vote for the AA games, they might not be the chilliest, but they are very charm and rewarding.

It depends for me. Something that fits your bill that I adore though is the Professor Layton games. Relaxing puzzles and a mystery to unfold in a world of the unknown. It's a very charming series!

For me lately though, it's been replaying the Zelda games. I just got to A Link to the Past and it's been a huge help when my stress gets bad. I hope things get better for you though! :)

Edit: I also recommend the Ace Attorney games, they gave me a lot of comfort in a very troubling time in my life.

Which Professor Layton game would you recommend starting with?

My first one was the Ace Attorney crossover due to being interested in that at the time, but I've been playing through the Curious Village recently and find it very charming! I think either of those would work.

I think I'll give Curious Village a shot. Thanks! I've been interested in the series but never played any.

My pleasure! It's stumped me a few times, but luckily the hint coin system is forgiving lol. Enjoy!

Thanks, I'd been meaning to check out Professor Layton actually! It looks like the exact kind of thing I'm looking for.

That's fantastic to hear 💕

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)

Pokemon, Phoenix Wright, Picross, Pushmo. Not sure why they're all P lol

[-] oselecto@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Haha yeh. How is Phoenix Wright? It's courtroom drama no? Not too intense?

[-] CloverSi@lemmy.comfysnug.space 3 points 1 year ago

You do have to pay attention so it's not entirely fluff, but it's also not very intense. The tone is pretty lighthearted and it's forgiving if you mess up, so you get plenty of opportunity to sit back and enjoy the humor.

Mario Maker, i love that game so fuckin much.

[-] oselecto@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah? I always assumed it would mostly be hardcore player-created levels. Is that not what it's like?

[-] Getallen@feddit.nl 1 points 1 year ago

That too, but there are a bunch of stuff ive played thats just fun. Making levels yourself is so fun because yeah, you can add either just a normal bowser or you can add WALL OF GOOMBA and give the player a fire flower.
