She moved to Moscow from Miami in 2019 — before Mr Putin's new scheme was introduced — seeking to escape racism in the United States.

Earlier this month, the Black woman took to social media with a bloodied face, saying she'd been attacked by bigoted neighbours

In a video uploaded on Instagram this month, Ms Villa says her neighbours changed the locks to her apartment and cut off her electricity.

A 2021 report by Amnesty International said "violent racism" was "out of control" in Russia.

It said attacks, including killings, were reported with "shocking regularity" and that "anyone who does not look typically Russian" was at risk.

Also talks of the Texas family posted elsewhere in here. Still alive ... Apparently.

Moving to Russia to escape racism is really the biggest self-own ever.

B-but the tankies say that Russia and China are paradises for minorities! They wouldn't lie, right?

I kinda get why tankies would defend China (CCP is still ostensibly Communist), but why Russia?? it's literally a kleptocratic oligarchy led by a billionaire dictator/mob boss. ain't nothing Soviet about it.

I used to think there was more to it, but it really is as simple as "They're the enemy of the west? Then all of the horrible things they do must be western propoganda, and their own state media is 100% truthful! Woo! You go Russia! De-nazify Ukraine!"

That they are allies with China and North Korea probably helps further legitimize that belief.

It also really helps that any information about those countries that conflicts with their preexisting views is immediately rejected as propoganda, no matter the validity of the information. Similar to a cult.

In a video uploaded in March, Mr Huffman explained his decision to relocate, and was particularly scathing of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the US.

"As a white family, [we were] being told we're racist and not given the same opportunities because of the colour of our skin," he said.

As someone who has been white and living in the U.S. his whole life, I've never had someone suggest I'm racist based on the color of my skin, at least not to my face (I can't say what folks say behind my back).

I wonder if the Huffmans were being accused of racism because of their racism rather than merely because of the color of their skin.

They might be right regarding not having the same opportunities, because based on what I've heard others have gone through, it's clear to me that I've had it much better than the average minority.

She went to ruzzia……to [checks notes] escape racism? This is like moving to the Marianas Trench to escape water.

Honestly, the best thing Tucker Carlson ever did was convince some dumbasses to move to Russia.
