PayPal and Palantir cofounder Peter Thiel is embarking on an unusual intellectual journey this fall—delivering a sold-out four-part lecture series on the biblical figure of the Antichrist. The private lectures, which will be held at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, represent the latest evolution in Thiel’s increasingly public theological interests that intertwine his Christian faith with his concerns about technology’s potential to enable authoritarian control.

Given the number of antichrist/rapture movies reviewed on God Awful Movies, I regret to say I think I already know what this guy is gonna talk about. And yes, sold out might actually be real people and not just a bribe-- a ton of people believe in this culty nonsense which is very upsetting.

I wonder sometimes if Thiel himself truly believes it or just sells it religious rubes for easy money, but maybe it's both. Just like cocaine, the advice is to not get high on your own supply.

It would be cool to hear his take on things, if for no other reason than he has a huge amount of influence in the current government and had a hand in project 2025; and he’s I think an accelerationist who believes society needs to collapse and be remade into some techno-feudal state with himself as lord of part of California and also everyone’s personal information. Cause Palantir definitely has all your shit at this point.

Now is a great time to plug the Monastic Academy which has a much better religion than Christianity for thinking about AI.

It must be comforting to live in a simple fantasy world of evil demons you fight against like a character in a video game.
