When Bitcoin was hijacked back in 2017 and most miners were forced to mine BTC instead of the real Bitcoin BCH there was concern of 51% attacks.

Bitcoin Cash implemented rolling checkpoints to protect the chain. A similar strategy can help Monero now.

Bitcoin Cash is the bitcoin based cousin of Monero, I recommend the Monero community start getting familiar with Bitcoin Cash just in case XMR is taken down.
