Always remember that one internet dweller with 10 accounts can consistently manipulate downvotes to change perspective of certain opinions.

Pineapple belongs on pizza

[-] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago

I live in a country where nobody would bother disputing it, it seems like such a weird thing to have a disagreement over.

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Pineapple on pizza is so fucking good, it makes me wonder what other fruits would be good on it too (besides tomato, obviously). Apples and cinnamon might work. Or maybe lychee and Korean beef?

Somebody needs to do some experiments with different fruits and report back.

[-] cashsky@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

Don't care for Hawaiian pizza but pineapple on a veggie pizza is fire.

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

I have OP tagged as vegan douche, lmao

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

They frequently get a fuck ton of down votes for spewing batshit crazy rhetoric.

What aren't you getting?

[-] JackbyDev@programming.dev 0 points 2 months ago

I was just asking, fuck. No need to be condescending.

[-] foggy@lemmy.world -2 points 2 months ago

Your response/question wasn't exactly neutral in tone. Maybe don't take a (second) swing here.

[-] JackbyDev@programming.dev 2 points 2 months ago

Saying you have someone tagged as a douche with zero context "wasn't exactly neutral in tone" either. Which is why I asked.

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I said I had them tagged as 'vegan' douche. Which is context.

Also I'm referring to OP in that post, so you know, the context is... The thread were both in.

It wasn't intended to be neutral in tone. I was clearly making a remark at what's behind OPs entire posting of this thread. Clearly others had no issue connecting these dots.

You're 0/3.

[-] JackbyDev@programming.dev 0 points 2 months ago

Why are you so hostile? I asked a question. That's it. That's literally all I did. I'm not a mind reader. All you had to say was "this poster has a history of posting snarky things that get downvoted" when I asked and it would've made sense. Not everyone replying to you is attacking you. Not everyone is keeping score. Not everyone is tone policing you. Believe it or not, some people just wanna talk. Some people are just curious when they don't understand why something was said. Is that so hard to believe? Is that really so hard to believe foggy? That when I asked you how it was relevant I was just curious how it was relevant? That I didn't have an ulterior motive? That I wasn't mad? That I wasn't trying to get you?

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

I'm just blocking you at this point. You're ridiculous.

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Bruh.

Sit back for a minute and take some deep breaths. Everything is going to be okay. You're getting all worked up over nothing.

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago

Hell, I love downvotes. It either means I'm wrong and need to check myself, or I made some people really mad. Win win.

[-] tamal3@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Noticing that "or"

[-] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Yep. Plus internet points aren’t real

[-] Montagge@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 months ago

Tell that to the mods on dbzero lol

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

Never before have I seen a batch of such fragile maniacs.

[-] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

What did they do? This sounds juicy

[-] Skavau@piefed.social 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Various communities on there, mostly AI themed communities (maybe more) will ban people for downvoting. In their defence, AI across the fediverse is pretty unpopular - so without it they'd be hammered into negatives almost every post.

[-] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Ah, gotcha. Yeah stable diffusion and AI art seemed like a core element of their instance a couple years ago. If people are going to their instances community and down voting all AI stuff I'm sure it would ruffle their feathers. It would be like going into a mattress store just to say all mattresses are bad because you don't care for them. https://p.lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/lemmy.dbzer0.com/13211160?thread=0.8857475#8857475

I mostly appreciate dbzer0 for their piracy, FOSS, and anarchist views. Also I think it's in their rules that people will be banned for right wing nonsense. I'm not really an anarchist myself, but I would plead the 5th on piracy and always love FOSS projects

[-] SnokenKeekaGuard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

The incredible urge I have to downvote this post from all my accounts 😫😫

But honestly I can't imaginge anyone cares enough to do that do they?

Even my most controversial posts have had maybe a 100 downvotes I wanna say. And that would be for a post with a lot of engagement. Posts with little engagement barely cross 10-15 downvotes even at their most controversial.

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 0 points 2 months ago

IS IT AS STRONG AS YOUR URGE TO EAT MANGOES??

[-] SnokenKeekaGuard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

NOTHING is as strong as my urge to devour mangoes

[-] TootSweet@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

More often than not, when I see I've been downvoted, I take pride.

[-] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

It means you're annoying the right people. Probably.

There is an unending treadmill of people who consistently apply a sprinkling of two or three downvotes on all of my posts (not comments), which at this point I'm convinced are people who don't understand that Lemmy doesn't have an algorithm, as such, and think clicking the down arrow means "don't show me stuff like this in the future." Which is not how it works.

You don't get rid of me that easily, in other words.

[-] 1984@lemmy.today 1 points 2 months ago

I just view downvotes as "these people are not seeing what im seeing". It certainly doesnt chance my mind. I need actual arguments for that.

[-] taiyang@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Yes, and ignoring the popularity of a comment is liberating. That said, I always worry about offending people I actually agree with due to wording. Like, Lemmy is fairly international, plus text can be ambiguous in tone sometimes (and people suffering depression or have various conditions can read neutral as negative or hostile, etc.)

If they comment, I try to clarify things and/or apologize, though. Hurting a nice, kind person (even if a stranger) can bother me for quite a while... Though I suppose they're not at likely to mass down vote you if they're kind.

[-] rimu@piefed.social 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Never put more of your attention on the downvotes you get vs the upvotes you get.

A handful of downvotes is normal.

[-] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 2 months ago

One angry conservative downvoting everything all day long, every day.

[-] bluGill@fedia.io -1 points 2 months ago

There is at least one angry liberal downvoting all day too. (Probably more than one in each group). Try to do better yourself. For bonus points (worthless but a great feeling when you can bring yourself to it) up vote a well reasoned arguement you disagree with!

[-] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago
[-] Psythik@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago

Fuck fake internet points; I speak my mind.

I'm 38. I ran out of fucks to give nearly a decade ago. Don't like what I have to say? Don't read it. Freedom of speech, motherfucker.

[-] Krudler@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I really hurt some little puke's feelings to the point that they follow me around and downvote.

I love it!

So fucking much!

Edit: I block at least one person a day but usually more, and I think I accidentally blocked whatever lunatic was doing it. I have concluded this because the conspicuous pattern has stopped recently
