NEW YORK — Leaders of Young Republican groups throughout the country worried what would happen if their Telegram chat ever got leaked, but they kept typing anyway.

They referred to Black people as monkeys and “the watermelon people” and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

I'd love to say this surprises me, but it does not in the slightest.

It's so ironic that conservatives idolize some of history's biggest losers, because had those losers won, there's a chance that people today wouldn't even be allowed to form their own opinions.

[-] chaogomu@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

That's always the goal. If everyone is oppressed, but they get to participate in the oppression of others, they'll jump at the chance.

It's the fucked up social contract that fascist supporters have with their dear leader, support dear leader unconditionally and dear leader will declare a new group of people to be below the supporters in the social hierarchy. This giving the supporters license to oppress that group.

While the supporters don't like getting shit on from above, they take great pleasure from shitting on those below.

Surely those who vote for the worst human beings imaginable will be spared from their wrath, right?

Right??

Fascism seems to require an "other" to work. Once you've destroyed all of the existing "others", the only thing left to do is to look inward and see whether those people who seemed like they were on your side were actually "others" all along.

These people don’t bluff. When people show you who they are believe them.

No one has been subjected to more vicious rhetoric and violence than President Trump and his supporters

It’s amazing to me that there are genuinely this many white nationalists/nazis irl. I honestly had no clue people were this awful and prevalent.

I’ve never seen people more openly willing to hate other humans based on race, gender or sex.

Why do we get to exist as a species if we are this toxic to ourselves?

[-] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 months ago

Hating and differentiating people based on race is pretty rational as long as you believe race is a real thing. That's kinda why it's called race-ism.

"we are officially under consideration for a (fucking child rapist∆) endorsement"

Fucks sake. How damn stupid/evil do you have to be to think that an endorsement from the Orange TurdNugget is a good thing?

( ∆ I will not say or write its' name ever again. The tangerine traitor doesn't deserve it, fucking kiddie fiddling nonce)

As if to put an even finer point on it. I just watched blackkklansman today and they really hammered home that that bullshit is not in the past, it is the present reality we live in. Opening lemmy to see the exact shit the white supremacists in the movie spewed is almost poetic in a fucked up way.

[-] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

And instead of disavowing these scumbags, JD Vance is saying it's not a big deal.

Just more "locker room" talk from the fascists.

[-] socsa@piefed.social 1 points 2 months ago

Does that mean we can make Charlie Kirk jokes?

There was never any reason to stop. The GOP shot him too.
