Don't get what's happening - so he's being chased by people smugglers in France? Or was he just attacked on the streets in paris unrelated?
Sounds like it's France's problem, I don't see how it's ours.

Who knows. Shit article.
true. At least it wasn't the Canary this time
Still mystified by the silence from the media on why these people are trying to get to the UK. Four people and only one motivation is discussed: for the person to be with their brother. Pathetic reportage.
Because if they reported that there were reasons other than free TVs and five star hotels (both lies anyway) the far right would get all pouty
Has anyone questioned why the whole "free house, free TV, front of the queue" stuff - abject bollocks to anyone with even the tiniest sliver of knowledge - might act as an attractant when relayed as fact by the usual suspects? I know that it's way too late to be starting now, but that means it's only the second best time to do so. Tell the poor sods the truth: you can't work, you're given pocket money; you're shoved into any available accommodation at the lowest possible cost (except to the private sector landlords); you're likely to get shunted around at a moments notice, etc.
If the entire local population of a given area has been radicalised to believe immigrants are a threat, how is integration supposed to happen at all, much less be successful?
Labour Party, my arse.
the whole “free house, free TV, front of the queue” stuff
I don't know what you're referring to here.
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
