arc raiders on Linux? (leminal.space)

I'm just curious I'd anyone here has successfully run arc raiders on Linux. If so what OS are you using and what was the setup if there was any?

Arc raiders is steam deck verifiied, so it should run great on Linux.

The game is listed as 'Platinum' on ProtonDB: https://www.protondb.com/app/1808500

I'm running it on Bazzite, and it mostly runs great.

I've been dealing with a bug that has apparently been around since the beta, but it's not Linux-specific. Sometimes, the game crashes due to a corrupted file. Verifying the install from Steam fixes the issue, but it seems to pop up randomly. I've had days without issues, and days where it happens 2-3 raids in a row.

I ran on Bazzite during the server slam right before release with few issues that I ended up sorting out. Their discord is very helpful and had a dedicated Linux support channel (I imagine there is a similar dedicated channel now that the game has fully released). Embark Studios has also stated that while they don't officially support Linux, they do support it on a best-effort basis and partner with a testing company that tests the game on Linux via Proton, so I wouldn't expect it to suddenly stop working any time soon.

EndeavourOS. Zero configuration, zero issues, solid 120 FPS on my rig and about to hit 50 hours. My default is Proton Experimental.

Same here but 80fps. It's been a great time.

Can't speak for myself as I haven't played it, but a good place I like to check is Protondb. Their page for Arc Raiders says it should be fully compatible :)

Obviously the folks posting at protondb can't speak for anyone so hopefully some folks here have some helpful anecdotes!

I ran into a tiny problem while playing it on Linux Mint. The game would freeze after a certain ammount of time, but increasing the max_map_count to that of the steamdeck fixed it. (Mint has a really low default one)

Now its running without problems.

I have been having crashes consistently on Linux that I don't get on windows, personally. But seems more like a me issue as most people say it runs great.

Some people report crashes but it works for me on GE Proton 10-24. On Arch btw.

For the most part it runs better than it does on my W11 install. I can even force a 7000 series FSR4 on my 6800XT.

CachyOS using their native proton.

I have 82 hours and crashed once during a match early on. Otherwise flawless performance and experience.

Oh there is a small stutter when quest cutscenes begin to play for the first time but that's not bad.
