Just obtained my first ps2 and so far my gf and I like playing:

  • test drive eve of destruction

  • ssx tricky

  • lotr return of the king

  • the warriors

Baulder's Gate Dark Alliance 1&2

Edit: For a different vibe, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe is a lot of multiplayer fun too

Oh hell yes, dont sleep on these OP. Theyre ARPGs, not CRPGs. Super fun, my friends and I played them for ages. Id love a modern one...

There was a Marvel game like them too but I can't remember the name

Champions of Norrath 1&2 were made by the same devs, but in the EverQuest universe instead of D&D and are worth checking out too.

  • R.A.D. (giant fighting robots)
  • gitaroo man

I love The Warriors, but my favorite PS2 games were the Tekken, Soulcalibur, and Tony Hawk games... wait, are they considered multiplayer or just versus?
Tony Hawk has cooperative modes though.

Soul Calibur 3 has a campaign mode that's really good. It's single player, but my roommate and I played it co-op by each making our own characters, choosing their movements, and then playing the fights for our characters.
