As you can imagine, it gets frustrating.

The only reason I didn't score a perfect 40/40 on the HARE was because I didn't have any behavioral problems in school, and I grew up with two great parents who never abused me. Aside from that, I am a dyed in the wool psychopath, and no one knows about it because it was basically lying dormant until my TBI "switched it on", for lack of a better term.

I'm always deeply suspicious about people labeling themselves as psychopaths. It's usually either edgy attention seeking behavior or a way to excuse away being a dick. Lots of overlap between the symptoms and just acting like a twat.

In your last post, you said you felt incredibly guilty from getting financial assistance from your parents. You even put it in caps. I don't think psychopaths would think about it much.

Online tests don't mean shit, especially when you are seeking a specific result. It seems like you are going through a lot and I don't want to be harsh here. Just try being nice to people instead of looking for reasons not to be.

You scored the same or higher than Ted Bundy, which is the highest score among serial killers on the PCL-R?

I'm different from Ted Bundy. I'm not a sadist. I have a very low pain tolerance so the last thing I want to do is harm anyone physically. I also want to just stay out of trouble in general because the last thing I want to do is lose my freedom and spend decades in jail.

Thats empathy.

That's what most people do.

When I watch a gore video it's like looking at a chair

Also not as rare as you'd think.

[-] CTDummy@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago

Oh I wasn’t comparing you to him, more remarking how rare that sort of score is. Either way, sounds like a difficult time. I recall sociopaths having a difficult time finding support.

you wouldnt be considering these other people let alone reaching out on here if you were a psychopath

or maybe your are and i should say...why post this at all, what are you trying to get out this if your incredibly narcissistic psychopath, just some internet sympathy?

your not really asking for help or anything, just saying your frustated people don't take you seriously. what do you expect/want eople do when you tell then your a high functioning, non-sadist, psychopath?

And yourqualification for this diagnosis is what precisely? Don't get me wrong: I'm not claiming that that Rainmaker here either is or is not a psychopath. Yet your so doubtless assurance, that they cannot, by any chance, be a psychopath because they're considering other people, etc. … leaves me as uncomfortable as if they (hypothetically) insists on having a specific condition they know they lack though (again Rainmaker: this is hypothetically, saying that those both options would let me feel similarly uncomfortable!).

This doubtless surety about what makes somebody no psychopath per se is that I learned of a professional who studied psychopath (their brain structure precisely, as this brain structure varied in a special way by convicted criminals with a psychopathic personality (respectively a antisocial personality disorder). So of that man, a psychiatrist himself, if I remember right, should be qualified to diagnose a psychopath if he sees one, right?

Well, to have brain-scans from "normal people" he scanned the brains of his family, his colleagues and … himself. They were meant to be used like a control group to compare the scans of psychopaths with. And now have a guess (if you don't already know that story). On scan of the control group showed a brain with a very high score in psychopathy typical traits. And it was that very psychiatrist very own brain. Funny, innit! That psychiatrist is now a diagnosed psychopath who, by luck, grew up in a kind family, so that he didn't developed an antisocial personality disorder or criminal behaviour, though he lacked some kind of empathy, yet compensated it otherwise to function in society.

And: If that psychiatrist happened to not see his own psychopathy, whist studying on that very topic … how can you then, via the world wide web, diagnose a stranger you probably have never met in RL, that surely because of a handful of posts here?

Again! I neither say that rainmaker is, or is not a psychopath. Yet … you too shouldn't do that so light heartedly as happened right here — whatever the truth about rainmaker is or is not *think*.

I've seen doctors for about 22 years, and none of them even suggested I'm a psychopath (they always said it was schizoaffective PD + schizoid)

then again the only thing doctors have ever done for me is give me pills that make me feel numb. in a perfect world, every single therapist - speech, physical, occupational, fucking WHATEVER - would be replaced by AI

it's going to happen within my lifetime and I can't. Fucking. WAIT.

Since you mentioned that you grew up with great parents, I could imagine that there are family members with whom you could talk about this. Which would probably be even better with an actual professional involved.
