Not exactly murdered by words though imo.

[-] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 11 points 1 day ago

Not exactly and not at all.

[-] glimse@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Pretty much nothing I've seen posted here is murdered by words but I checked and it looks like they're just reposting the top posts from the subreddit

Mildly jostled by words?

What's a good example of an actual murder by words, just as a point of reference.

[-] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

A good example is when it's a witty, unexpected insult.

As much as I don't like peta, this is an example of being murdered by words

[-] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

Thanks! I really like the stinging brevity of that one.

[-] arin@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago

Can't even get a vpn for these astroturfers 🇺🇸🥇

[-] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 35 points 1 day ago

I hadn't considered that. It really adds a whole other layer of incompetence. Reminds me of the four-seasons landscaping debacle.

[-] TachyonTele@piefed.social 11 points 1 day ago

That's hilarious.
I guess they only need to put in so much effort in order to fool their marks.

[-] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Well, they are conservatives that believe in an imaginary sky person.

[-] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 7 points 1 day ago

Twitter pays for engagement. And any extra expenses cuts into that.

They're not doing this because they actually care. They're gaming the shitty system that musk set up.

[-] glimse@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Goes both ways, unfortunately. I like George takei but I wish he'd just stop posting so many bland takes

[-] Deceptichum@quokk.au 4 points 1 day ago

Why would they?

Twitter only turned on the ability for the public to see this briefly before hiding it again. It’s not like people can normally tell and Twitter doesn’t care to stop it.

The US loves outsourcing things so much, we even outsource our fascism!

[-] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

🎵 Watch out, Europe. We're going on tour!

Lemme just sharpen my pitchfork real quick

[-] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Don't forget the torches! It's not just for ambiance. The dull redish-orange glow underlighting an angry face helps drive the point home with dramatic flair.

I'm European, not American. Of course I have torches. How else would I find my way once the nightly dark covers the land? I've heard about eelcricity, but I ran out of eels, and I think they were the wrong type.

[-] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I inferred that from the context, and I hope no offense was taken.

I like the bit about the eels. Sounds like something Terry Pratchett would write.

Trumpers are anti-christian and pro-death by definition. You cannot be anything Jesus would approve if you support someone who tried to murder five children who were proven innocent and had zero regrets about it. Especially considering that doesn't make his top ten of his crimes that are just common knowledge. Pretty sure Jesus wouldn't be pro-child-rape.

[-] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Judging Christianity based on Jesus is like judging the Nestle corporation based on the Quik Bunny.

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

What I'm doing is pointing out that Christians rarely embody what they claim. Did you actually think I am unaware that they're usually like that?

[-] glimse@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Is this community going to be all mildly witty oneliners in response to celebrity tweets?

No offense intended, I'm just trying to figure out if I want to filter it out or not

[-] tetris11@feddit.uk 3 points 1 day ago

I mean I haven't seen a "DESTROYED BY FACTS AND LOGIC" post in a while, though I do agree that that is likely the premise of the whole sub.

I'm not subscribed, but I see it from time to time and it's nice little break from all the doom and gloom of actual headlines, so I welcome the occasional distraction

Other nations want us to fail so bad. But I'm telling them right now, they don't need to try so hard with these troll farms and bots. Conservatives and Neo-Liberals wouldn't see reality regardless.

[-] BakerBagel@midwest.social 3 points 1 day ago

They don't want us to fail, but neoliberalism has made everything in the west for sale, so there is plenty of money to be made by exploiting overworked and undereducated Americans. The people running these accounts would be running shell games or investment schemes in different situation, but there is plenty more money to be made grifting Westerners than their local communities. The only agenda here is profit.

[-] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

They don't? Neoliberal and conservatives are soar lossers they will never admit that our ways are flawed and were never going to be able to deliver the success they promised. So the plan is to sink the ship and blame everything on the people who they needed to sacrifice their dreams so very few could actually achieve their promises.

Asia specifically is poised to take over as the global region of power if we fail.

[-] BakerBagel@midwest.social 1 points 1 day ago

So you think that Bangladesh is coming to get us? Bangladesh isn't even going to be a country in 50 years when sea levels rise and swallow up 3/4 of the country.

[-] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

No want my point. I'm just saying we refuse to do even the basics things to reverse the backside of our nation. Bangladesh troll farms don't need to hype up the dumb ideological failings.
