Donald Trump is not a smart man. He didn't become the threat that he is due to his own skilful manoeuvring. He became a threat because the institutions that are supposed to oppose people like him have failed.
Now that, for the first time in his political career, he's up against an opponent with basic competence he can't do anything other than flail impotently.
Just to be clear, in England/the UK, at least, kings were established as not being above the law by the Magna Carta and when Charles I tried to dispute that they cut his head off. The powers that SCOTUS is giving to the President go well beyond the ones given to the monarchy that most Americans are familiar with.

The thing is, they don't even have to lose all their developers. They just have to lose enough so that introductory gamedev classes start being taught in Godot, indie devs start seeing Godot as a viable option and employers start posting listings looking for Godot experience. Unity was the default engine for lower-budget games for years, and now that's gone.
