Hi-Fi Rush has been at $17.99 for about a week now, didn't know that the winter sale was live so I thought DekuDeals was lying to me and jumped on that purchase.

  • Doom 2016 $4 -80%
  • Neon White 2022 $10 -60%
  • Inscryption 2021 $8 -60%

Never played Doom 2016 but I've heard it's very good.

Doom 2016 was my game for last year and into early this year. For what it's worth, I enjoyed it quite a bit once I got into it. I tried to start it a few times and that didn't work out, but then suddenly last winter, it all just clicked.

I had also tried Doom Eternal, and that's not my thing. Doom 2016 lets you play at your own pace, your own style, and make your own choices on how to play ... mostly. Doom Eternal you basically have to play it the way THEY want you to play and use the weapons THEY want you to use and if you don't then you're in for an unfun struggle. Doom 2016 isn't really like that, in my opinion and experience.

One of the yt gamers I watch made a comment about how by the end of Doom the final boss isn't the mastermind, it's you. The demons are trying to survive the doomslayer as you rip and tear

Inscryption is fantastic. Enjoy it!

Please don't giving money to people who explicitly use it to perscuit, harass and roll back the rights of a minority group. There are so many other games, give your business to anyone else.

Picked up lords of the fallen and it's been scratching that souls-like itch I've had since I finished elden ring.

Too poor to be in this community

[-] BurntWits@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 hours ago

I feel that. I’ve missed the last couple sales and will probably sit this one out too.

[-] zipzoopaboop@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 1 hour ago

They aren't as good as they used to be

[-] Stupendous@lemmy.world 6 points 9 hours ago

Picked up Eastern Exorcist. Got it for free for Android from epic but no gamepad support. So now I buy the Steam version for gamepad support. Solid game

[-] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 1 points 7 hours ago

Got it for free too on Epic and was super surprised by it. Solid game indeed.

[-] Drigo@sopuli.xyz 3 points 8 hours ago

I bought operation Tango. Insanely fun co op game! Enjoyed it very much. Just wished it had a longer story

My plan to work on my backlog this fall has utterly failed. Instead I've not been playing any games at all for the past month and a half, instead just working on a mod for STALKER Anomaly. Consequently I know in my heart of hearts that the right thing to do is not spend any money this sale. However, I am still looking at:

Tails of Iron (-92%)

The Banner Saga (-85%)

Bloodstained: Ritual of Night (-75%)

Virgo Versus The Zodiac (-75%)

Road 96 (-75%)

HYPER DEMON (-75%)

INMOST (-70%)

Trepang2 (-66% - if it was any lower I would just snap it)

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was fun. It did evoke feelings of nostalgia for me, since Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was one of my favorite games back in the late 90s (tied with Resident Evil) and still one of my favorites of all time. I'm personally not a huge fan of the art style and it does lack a bit of polish here and there, but overall good especially at 75% off. Hope you enjoy it.

Vein. Bought a full copy today, been playing their free demo version. Still in development, but potentially a great game for people who enjoy crafting survival. You explore and scavenge for components you need to build supplies to survive. Everything can be broken down with the right tools. It's not a fast-pace bloody hack and slash game, but more focused on building, occasionally dealing with zombies that want to eat your brains.

[-] madcaesar@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Can you play with friends?

[-] EchoCranium@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 hours ago

Have not tried it, but there are supposed to be multiplayer options. Not sure how well it works, sounds like there are plans to fix bugs (whatever they may be) in the near future.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 8 hours ago

It's like a first person Project Zomboid. Lots of potential

[-] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

Just added the demo to my library, thanks for the recs
