I just keep in on Debian stable with Gnome
Debian Testing with KDE for me.
I use a bunch of different ones depending on the use case. But the one I've been coming back to for all my general purpose applications is Mint.
It just works, and the Cinnamon DE is the most stable one in my experience, I've almost never experienced any crashes in years on a bunch of different devices.
my favorite is one of the ones this author said they wouldn't recommend. 😪
Debian Stable with i3wm because I only had to think about it once when upgrading from Debian 12 to 13 where the new packages included the Alacritty update that changed their config format so I had to go and fix that.
I hate thinking about my computer's OS; it should just work and I don't have to think about it!
