Denmark just approved a bill to let the US place military bases within Denmark's mainland (the US already has a military presence in Greenland). As I keep saying before, I have zero expectations of a violent war with Denmark. EU countries are largely already mostly puppets of the USA. The Denmark politicians are just pretending to put on a show because it is politically popular to do so, while behind the scenes are working with the US and also will likely be pressured by other EU countries to give up Greenland.
I expect the Europeans will collectively say thank you daddy in the end.
EU will hand Greenland over to Trump on a silver platter and claim it was a victory for Europe.
I really anticipate the EU will simply hand over Greenland in the end. There will be much hand wringing and statements decrying the situation between then and now, but the political leaders of Europe are miserable US Bootlickers. The mega corporations that run Europe will never allow a real schism between them and the US to form.

What a decade it's been huh?
This whole thing has been great to show libs that the US is an empire. If all that stops you from taking your "allies'" lands is politeness, and you have their economies tied to yours, and host your military on their land, those are vassals. Denmark has no recourse whatsoever to Trump deciding Greenland is his. It is a vassal state, and the US has kept up the kayfabe of mutual diplomatic honor and recognition only to keep its vassals docile.

They will then fantasize about minorities, leftists, and non-voters being beat to death by the police and ice while they smuggle say "well I guess you should have voted for blue fascist."

I hope you are right. I'm at the point in my doomerism where I'm begging to be proven wrong. The populace of this country continues to just strive to go lower and lower in expectations.
My biggest worry is that people falling out of the liberal mainstream end up moving predominantly to the right. The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that the left doesn't have a compelling narrative that hooks people in the way the right does. The level of organization is far worse, and this is really what we need to focus on right now. How do we convey our ideas in a clear and appealing way that clicks with people.
It is just inevitable when even the supposed "left" movies that come out can't help but frame revolutionaries or leftists as hippies (i.e. One battle after another) and the fascists as badasses.
