Weird, same glitch seems to be affecting posts about Epstein and Trump too. So strange

[-] Flauschige_Lemmata@lemmy.world 28 points 20 hours ago

Is this related to the Tiananmen Square glitch?

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago

Doesn't look like it.

Crazy that doesn't seem to be a problem on Loops

https://loops.video/

[-] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 20 hours ago

I wonder if people will finally migrate to Loops?

What's their marketing budget look like?

I was truly astounded when I first saw an actual real life ad for TikTok. Like, commercial social media is itself an ad platform, how can it be that that is itself advertised IRL?

[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago

You need to advertise your service in order for people to use it. If TikTok doesn't bombard people with ads to come visit them, they can't report growing user numbers and demand more money from advertisers/investors.

You see this with mainstream media all the time. The network that's hosting the Super Bowl will run ads day and night for months in advance, reminding people that they're the channel where you watch the Super Bowl and encouraging you to tune in. News Years is another one. Just wall to wall "Watch TV during New Years!" so they can maximize viewership for this singular mega-event.

From one apparent state censorship to another.

The reason why Tik Tok in USA should be owned by USA was not to prevent Chinese propaganda but to allow US propaganda

[-] nous@programming.dev 3 points 20 hours ago

Why not both?

The tech issue is the technician that was paid or threatened to modify the code to reject those videos.

[-] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 2 points 20 hours ago

He's not an issue, he's a feature.

The aged billionaire assholes are really saying "The time has come for us to take control of everything" aren't they?

[-] gustofwind@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

Well yeah they are the tech issue

[-] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

It's definitely a tech bro issue.
