So far i've tried 3, last one was 1pass, i'd give it an 8, before that was nordpass, straight 6, Bitwarden is... fine, but it definitely doesn't live up to the hype.

I'm gonna try as many as i can before i settle but which one should i try next? I prefer accesability, good integration across all devices and a few deeper features for power users are always a plus.

Wonderful day! ✨

Just in case, have you tried any of the clients for the open-source audited standard KeePass (e.g. KeePassXC, KeePassDX, KeeWeb etc.)?
Though, it requires a manual device/database synchronization logic for certain clients/projects.

I actually forgot I have tried keepass, and it's fine, but unfortunately the no recovery options if you somehow lose access is a deal breaker for me.

I understand for security theres no better option, but I travel and deal with a bunch of different systems in a way that make storing all my passwords locally a very dangerous proposition. I'm just not willing to do any sort of workarounds that may exist to mitigate those dangers, it's too much of a headache for me personally

At least I remember that being the gist of my issues with it, it's been a while

I’m curious as to what you don’t like about bitwarden?

It's just clunkier than the rest for my use case. Mostly just didn't like how it "felt" if that makes sense

I agree with this, but the biggest benefit to me is that it's (a) open source and auditable, (b) self-hostable to owning my data, and (c) has a cheap hosted plan so I can choose to not handle my own major security. For meeting all of my highest personal priorities I'm willing to put up with some clunkiness. But, man, I would love the friendliness I hear about from the likes of 1password!

Ah ok, fair enough! I’ve been using it for a while, but wonder if there are others I should try, haha

I've been using KeepassXC with SyncThing for years on phones and multiple PCs. Once Syncthing was configured in a star rather than mesh topology problems have been few and far between, even when the database is open on multiple devices at the same time. When problems they do occur they are easily resolved.

I had originally planned this as a temporary set up, but it's worked so well I've found no reason to change it.
