I think I would have played it more if it wasn't for that fucking fairy yelling the same things over every single combat sequence.

Like it's painfully obvious my party member is hurt you don't need to keep yelling at me until I heal (or often can't even heal if I wanted to)

Thinking of giving it another go but muted, which is sad tbh. Soundtrack is also fine but very repetitive to the point it was also getting on my nerves

It's mechanically very competent, the difficulty seems appropriate (on the hardest difficulty at least) and the social sim stuff is made so that you need to think about efficiency but aren't tempted to use a guide. The "puzzle" of how to build the characters remains interesting to the end, though there is usually an obvious correct choice.

The story kind of shits the bed about 2/3 of the way in, in a way that makes the game seem like it was stitched together from the corpses of like two other failed projects. It has plenty of enjoyable moments and characters, but that part left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

It is painfully liberal in a way that is so incoherent with the story that it almost flips over to being interesting again.

Didn't like the "Actually incrementalism is the way to go" theme, it's like that up until the very very end, implying not even a racist caste system (that they don't immediatly abolish) requires immediate solution

Does it get revolutionary at some point? I feel like it falls back whenever revolutionary notion is about to happen, e.g. Catherina storyline where she gets horrified her followers actually started holding the nobles accountable and even targeted "honest" merchants! (LMAO)

Nah, it's still an Atlus game lol. Pretty fun gameplay loop and I enjoyed the storyline and cast enough to have a great time.

Yea overall i have enjoyed it, the overarching story is ok if only viewed as a critic or might makes right ideas. I am like 75% through it i think and it doesn't think it will have any welcome surprise waiting for me, still i think it's relatively better politically than persona games, the worldbuilding is superb and is a good foundation for a franchise, i just hope they drop the liberal democracy utopia lmao.

I think the fantasy setting does a lot of the work for that lol. Same reason why I can sit back and enjoy the dumb plots in Fire Emblem.
