I'm no programmer but I do know basic networking and computers. I have about 5TB worth of storage (more is to come) to spare, a 1Gbps connection and a public (although dynamic) IP address. Is there any need for hardware contributions, as in, for instance, hosting, doing backups, anything?

You could also look into hosting a distributed Garage cluster for S3 compatible media storage with a few other people. Most fediverse software including Lemmy is compatible with that for image storage etc.

It would be especially neat to have something like this for peertube and similar if it’s technically possible
