Direct communication is so much more respectful. It treats people like adults whose time is valuable.

But if you work with immature, incompetent people, they will complain about your tone...

I was called unprofessional for calling someone out for consistently answering my questions with questions. I just started doing what they did, answering all their questions with questions, and used their words. Then I got fired. I was very happy.
