Like, to quickly show a reader how a name is spelled for paperwork, etc. Something that makes the text take up the entire size of the screen or something like that.

A crude but simple way would be to save a HTML file with a textarea. Type in the text and pinch to zoom.

It's not foss (i know that kinda defeats the purpose) but it needs no account, no permissions and has no ads.

Nice find, thanks! @brie reminded me of data:text/html, <body contenteditable> so I'll be using that "webpage," though (if I can remember it!).

I've been using embiggen on android for years but a foss alternative would be nice.
