Really liking the new image settings such as not showing the controls by default. But they kept appearing for me and I couldn’t work out why until just now.

Open an image, zoom in, then pan a small amount. Looks like a small drag is interpreted as a tap, and the controls alternately show / hide.

I’d happily turn the overlay off completely if that was an option; I can’t remember the last time I actually needed them—the close icon isn’t needed with the swipe to dismiss, and you can easily get to save / share by long press after closing. Since I use those so rarely, that would be better UX for me.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll add an option to disable the controls completely in the next TestFlight 👍

i just want there to be a swipe-away gesture while zooming. needs to happen when we're swiping 'forcefully' well beyond the edge of it.

My preference (which I think I put in the original post) was single tap while zoomed should reset zoom. Then dismiss becomes ‘tap, swipe’ and can be almost instantaneous.

i guess double-tap does it.

im also noting here that the image viewer dismissal is down/up swipe where the rest of the app wants left-edge-to-right swipe
