Pfft. She's not sorry. She's sorry she couldn't bully her way through it. She doesn't belong in public office, not even as a village dog catcher.

[-] Maeve@kbin.social 3 points 10 months ago

Wasn’t the btk serial killer a dog catcher?

[-] norbert@kbin.social 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Yeah, dog-catcher and "compliance officer," whatever that means.

[-] Maeve@kbin.social 1 points 10 months ago

I thought so. It’s been a minute though.

[-] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 0 points 10 months ago

Around here they're called by-law officers. I would expect it's by-laws they're enforcing compliance of.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

How about rat catcher? She probably toots a very boring flute.

[-] ikidd@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Well, she is the town bicycle...

[-] Whiskey_iicarus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 45 points 10 months ago

“Most of us were like ‘holy cow,’” said Beverly Cuyler, a long-time Boebert supporter. “And one of the big reasons for that is a gap between how she presented herself as a Christian and what ended up happening.”

Oh, now you're clutching your pearls?

It’s an unusual tone for Boebert. The congresswoman’s unapologetic, Trumpian style had propelled her to MAGA stardom nationwide; now, she’s fighting for political survival at home.

If I remember correctly it was the leader of the MAGA party that said something to the effect of grab 'em by the pussy. I'd bet a tRump buck that she voted for the literal embodiment of the anti Christ from the bible.

[-] root_beer@midwest.social 9 points 10 months ago

For that reason and others, I don’t buy that these jamokes really cared in the first place. What are they gonna do now anyway, not vote for her? Let some child molester from the democrat party win? Psh, yeah right, and Jason Aldean isn’t truly a small-town good ol’ boy.

Why even bother with the fake apology?

[-] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

At this point I honestly don't think more than a quarter of the party actually know who represents them and just check any box with an R next to it.

[-] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

99% of the time, I would agree with this.

But in this case, she was already in a lot of trouble before Beetlejuice. This is one of the rare cases where they really might vote for someone else. Might.

[-] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 10 months ago

She only won by ~500 votes after a recount. But she’s got to win the primary first, which I suspect will still happen with these maga voters.

[-] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

I would actually prefer that she wins the primary, then loses the general.

The district is normally R+ double digits. If she loses her primary, her district will likely overwhelmingly vote for whoever the R candidate is. If she wins her primary, there's a very real chance the seat turns blue for at least the next couple of years.

[-] root_beer@midwest.social 1 points 10 months ago

Is there anyone in her district who is less qualified and more insane than she is, who could win the primary? Either way, agreed.

[-] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Is there anyone in her district who is less qualified and more insane than she is, who could win the primary?

I'm honestly not sure if "Less qualified than Lauren Boebert" and "More Insane than Lauren Boebert" are lows that can simultaneously be accomplished by a functioning human being. I mean seriously, how low do you have to get to be an incredibly (physically) attractive Republican woman, running in an R+20 district that has MAGA basically injected directly into their veins, and still be so bad that some of them not only decided to vote for a filthy liberal Democrat last time, but may very well do so again.

That is a spectacular level of fail. You almost have to intentionally try to fail that hard.

[-] dhork@lemmy.world 27 points 10 months ago

She could try servicing her constituents. Just escort them one by one to each and every community theater show and it would be a handy way to win....

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 25 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Feigned humility. She vaped next to a pregnant woman despite being asked not to, got sexually hands-y at a family musical with children around, and when finally asked to leave, flipped the people doing their job off while loudly swearing and pulled the "don't you know who I am" card.

When people show you who they are, believe them. Come on, Colorado: you can do better than this for a Public Servant...

[-] krashmo@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago

Isn't she married to some pedo dude? What happened to him?

[-] YoBuckStopsHere@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago
[-] krashmo@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago
[-] Telorand@reddthat.com 2 points 10 months ago

Yeah, the guy in the theater is her new boy toy. And boy, does she clearly have good standards. /s

[-] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

This is why I won’t take my kids bowling. /s

[-] norbert@kbin.social 7 points 10 months ago

Keep your kids away from Republicans.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 20 points 10 months ago

Yeah MAGA voters respond well to humility.

[-] Reptorian@lemmy.zip 19 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Here's a new approach suggestion, Ms. Boobert: Resign. That's it.

[-] Octavio@lemmy.world 18 points 10 months ago

If you're in Colorado and are sick and tired of your beautiful state being associated with this low-rent Sarah Palin, you might be interested in supporting Adam Frisch

[-] YoBuckStopsHere@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

Boebert represents the Western Slope. 90% of the state population are in the front range.

[-] Octavio@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

I’m aware of that, and I’m in the part not represented by her, but I still sent Frisch a contribution. People hear Colorado and they think of her. It’s embarrassing for all of us.

[-] aphlamingphoenix@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

It's also the case that she won against Frisch in the last election by only a few hundred votes in a district that's been solid red for a long time, showing that even Republicans in her district are growing tired of her. I feel like if we can give Adam a little push he can take it next time.

[-] SCB@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Literally the only thing I've ever liked about Boebert was when she showed that she's a big ol hoe

It's maybe the only thing we've ever had in common

[-] YoBuckStopsHere@lemmy.world -4 points 10 months ago

Well she was a sex worker prior to being in Congress.

[-] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago
[-] SCB@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

It doesn't make you lesser to be a sex worker. I'd respect her more if she was.

[-] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Not necessarily saying it does. Doesn't change the fact that she wasn't a sex worker.

I'm just one of those people who doesn't like pinning something on anybody that isn't true, no matter how much I personally dislike them. It's just a pet peeve of mine. Especially when it comes to people like Boebert, who already gives people enough legitimate reasons to hate her without having to make up new ones.

[-] SCB@lemmy.world 0 points 10 months ago

I'm down man. I agree. I'm just saying, I'd like her more.

Doesn't take a lot for me to like someone more than I currently like Boebert.

[-] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Well, she does set the bar pretty low.

[-] SCB@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Finally, something else redeeming about her.

[-] ButtermilkBiscuit@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Her new approach is under the pants tugs.

[-] eran_morad@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

I guess giving out handies didn’t cut it.

[-] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

This will probably go down just like when Marjorie Trailer Park Greene tried to repackage herself as a humble centrist. I think it lasted a few days until she ditched the facade and just went right back to being a cunt. I expect the same here.

[-] theodewere@kbin.social 3 points 10 months ago

Lauren Boebert's on her knees, guys

[-] mateomaui@reddthat.com 2 points 10 months ago

pfffft whatever

[-] aksdb@feddit.de 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I really hate being so shallow, but just seeing here face makes my blood boil. I just hope it's simply the news papers picking the dumbest photos possible.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

She probably had to look up that word. Lets see how long she can keep that ill-fitting facade up.
